Prom Dress Shopping

This weekend is dedicated to prom dress shopping. Yes, I know it is early, but our prom is early and once February starts, my daughter will be super busy. We are shopping now to avoid the stress of an over packed schedule.

I never got to go to prom. When we were growing up, girls didn't go to prom without a date. No one asked me, so my dress just sat in the closet with the tags on it until I was in college. My daughter has been two years with a date and is going with a group of friends for her senior prom. So, prom dress shopping is actually very fun for me. I have learned over the past two years just to sit and let her decide. My job is just to hold the bags and take pictures.

After Rach was asked to the prom her sophomore year, we made a pact. If she would allow me to buy her consignment dresses for her sophomore and junior years, we would splurge for a new dress at a dress shop for her senior year. I must admit, shopping at a dress shop instead of a consignment store is sooooo much nicer! She has a budget and is doing a good job of staying within those boundaries.

Here are a few of my favorites for yesterday. The camera on my phone isn't the best, but you get the idea.

This is our last prom. I guess the next time we do something like this will be for her wedding. I plan to enjoy the next stop on our whirlwind tour of dress shops!
